Frequently asked questions
What can I book?
Practical help at home from local, self-employed providers: homecare (companionship, meals, shopping, errands and check-in visits), housekeeping, babysitting and dog care. See what we help with.
Is this medical or personal care?
No. Providers offer practical and social help. They do not provide medical care, nursing or personal care such as washing and dressing, and they do not give medication.
Where is Daybreak available?
Across Northern Ireland. Search with your BT postcode to see providers near you, or browse the areas we cover.
How do I book?
Search by service and postcode, choose a provider, pick a date and time, then pay online. You can also post a job and let providers respond.
How long is a visit?
At least 1 hour (babysitting at least 3 hours), booked in 15-minute steps.
How much does it cost?
Providers set their own hourly rates. Daybreak adds a booking fee, including VAT, and you see the full price before you pay.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancel 24 hours or more before the visit for a full refund. Later cancellations are partly or fully charged. See the cancellation policy.
How do I become a provider?
Create a provider account and complete Daybreak's checks. Once approved, you can list services in the categories you are approved for. See become a provider.
How are providers paid?
Through Stripe, after the visit is complete: when the customer confirms, or automatically 48 hours after the visit ends if no problem is reported.
